Wilderness and nature courses in Upper Franconia
We are trained wilderness educators and have worked with Coyote Teaching for over twenty years. What we pass on in wilderness courses are not courses in the usual sense: we don't explain anything to you that you can find out yourself.

Coyote Teaching: why we don't explain things to you
In many North American stories the coyote is the trickster — the one who never gives the straight answer but lays a trail. That is exactly what the method means: instead of telling you which tree that is, we ask you a question that makes you look for yourself.
That sounds like a detour and is the shorter way. What you work out yourself stays. What someone explains to you is gone after two weeks.
In practice that means:
- We don't give lectures. We ask questions and create opportunities.
- There is no right and no wrong. No exam at the end either.
- Small groups or one-to-one. It doesn't work any other way — Coyote Teaching needs us to know where you are right now.
- Outdoors, in any weather. The course is only cancelled if it really can't go on or becomes unsafe.
Our courses
From rawhide to soft leather
An almost forgotten craft, three days, outdoors. While you work the hide, it tells you the story of the animal — its strength, its endurance, its tenderness. That is exactly what you need yourself.
- 3 days in two parts (1 day + 2 days)
- Adults only, groups of 4 or more (hunters welcome)
- €380 per person for the whole course, tools provided
Nature as a mirror
Not a stroll and not a hike, but a space without pressure to perform. You set out alone, with an impulse we develop together beforehand. Back at the threshold you tell your story — and have it reflected back to you.
- Preliminary conversation, about 2 hours of walking, reflection
- One-to-one or small group
- €90 per person
- A place of power in nature or a place near you

We did our training in wilderness education and nature mentoring in a year-long programme with Hans Müllegger of wildnis.at. Many more seminars followed — among others with Jon Young and with Circlewise.
We have been teaching courses ourselves for over twenty years, in all directions.
We are different, and that is intentional.
Christian comes from the ancient crafts: tanning, fire, tools, everything that passes through the hands.
Sabine takes the nature-mystic path — for her what matters is not what ends up in your hand, but what starts moving along the way. That shows in the formats:
