Nature Art Journaling
Creative connection with nature through brush, pencil and colour
Inspiring nature experiences in every season – an instructive and artistic journey to a deeper bond with nature
Nature art journaling means recording observations and thoughts about nature in words and pictures. Children discover the beauty of nature this way and capture it in a notebook. They observe, take part, develop appreciation and environmental awareness, and find their own artistic expression with different natural materials and techniques.
With exciting questions and age-appropriate information, this book encourages exploring nature and awakens enthusiasm and a thirst for knowledge. The art workshop through the year lets children notice the characteristic features and moods of each season through activities and projects, and capture them in their artwork.
This book is a guide and a source of inspiration. Its ideas and tips stir the imagination, let children find their individual form of expression free from pressure to perform, and make the love of nature bloom on an exciting journey through the seasons.

Anyone who perceives nature openly and with all their senses connects with it and can draw on its treasures. Materials that nature has to offer become beautiful and useful objects without much preparation, cost or complicated techniques.
The author presents materials such as woods, wild plants, clay and stone, bone, horn and feathers. Old and new ways of working and techniques produce simple furniture, games, musical instruments, tools, remedies and cosmetics. In exercises in conscious experience of nature she lets us connect with nature and experience its elemental effect first-hand.
From the deep awareness of nature that finds expression in craft, the projects presented create things that carry nature into everyday life and are good for soul, mind and body.

More about the book:
In spring, make a syrup from the first flowering herbs and whittle a whistle from young wood. Light a fire the old way and cook a soup together. Boil natural soap and felt with sheep wool. Make primitive tools such as a stone knife or a bow.
For the green medicine cabinet, cook a forest balm over the open fire. Chocolate bananas from the embers and stories around the campfire round off the day. A wealth of practical instructions shows how to experience nature first-hand and meaningfully with children through the cycle of the seasons.
Beautiful and useful things are made from natural materials with simple means.
